Here’s how I created this nautical but contemporary bedroom design… AND YOU CAN DO IT TOO.
Decorating Idea… It’s as easy as 1, 2 & 3.
- Paint the walls light blue, this colour above Borrowed Light from Farrow & Ball is the perfect shade of blue.
- Select s few blue and white fabric’s with the nautical theme, usually about 5 patterns I like to work with in a bedroom design. I add some bedding from Sarah Richardson Design to give it that fresh spring look.
- Get a few furniture and accessories items with a natural wood and wicker texture for those traditional but warm elements.
And now sail away mate and enjoy your bedroom design!
Whenever I see a bedroom design online, this one is from One Kings Lane. I like to come up with my own design ideas using this picture as inspiration. This nautical but contemporary bedroom design has a fresh spring feeling. Spring is almost here!

Noticed this room is done with the new colours of the year, source from One Kings Lane.
I have a guest bedroom with a queen size bed in it, however, I don’t have room for a headboard. I only have about 2 feet at the end of the bed to move around. No Problem. So my solution is to paint a head board on the wall, not only do your create a decorative detail but you can always match the colour with the decor.
